Why is this medication prescribed?
Promoter contains the building blocks of the metallothionein (MT) protein. MT proteins are made up of fourteen amino acids and zinc. The aim is to boost MT production therefore allowing the body to chelate (detoxify) mercury and other heavy metals naturally.
The Promoter formulation contains all fourteen amino acids in the proportion found in MT proteins. The large amounts of cysteine required for MT synthesis are provided in the form of glutathione (
Promoter is used to assist in the promotion of metallothionein (MT) proteins in the gastrointestinal tract (important for detoxification), brain and elsewhere. Promotion of MT protein
- The removal of toxic heavy metals in the body.
- Protection against further exposure.
- Normalisation of the gastrointestinal tract and prevention of yeast overgrowth.
- Improved behaviour control.
- Improved immune function
- Enhanced development of brain neurons and synaptic connections.
How should this medicine be used?
- Promoter is usually given once a day on an empty stomach, often at night time. Promoter is usually taken once or twice a week initally, usually on the weekend. The dose can then be gradully increased to every second night and up to every night. The dose may vary depending on the age and needs of the patient, check with your practitioner or pharmacist if unsure.
- It is important to take Promoter separately to any supplements containing zinc as absorption may be impaired.
- Promoter can deplete the body of essential minerals especially zinc, therefore zinc loading should occur before starting Promoter and should continue throughout treatment. Promoter must not be started if zinc levels are low.
- The Promoter capsules may be opened and mixed with water, juice, pureed fruit, smoothie etc. If the powder is not dissolving add a little warm water. For children, syringing the solution into the side of the mouth can avoid most of the taste buds.
